On Valentine’s Day this year, Great Western Air Ambulance Charity was called out to Robin after he had a high speed cycling incident that left him with multiple severe trauma injuries and in need of critical care.
Robin was in a critical condition, and was bleeding heavily. Our Critical Care Team attended to him at the scene before airlifting him to Southmead Hospital’s major trauma unit.
In May this year, just a few months after his incident, Robin and his wife came to visit GWAAC’s air base to say thank you to the crew who saved his life on the day of the accident.
This Christmas, Robin is encouraging people to support the charity in helping us fund a #ChristmasMission. Our crew will be working hard over the festive season, continuing to provide life-saving treatment across the region to those in need, and ensuring more families get to spend Christmas with their loved ones.
“We never know when we might need support from something like Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, so given its Christmas, we should all think about supporting their Christmas Mission as part of our seasonal goodwill.”
