Fundraise for GWAAC

Did you know that GWAAC is entirely funded by donations and support from our local community, trusts and businesses? As a charity, we receive no day-to-day funding from the Government or National Lottery and so we’re ever grateful for those who give up their own time to help us raise over £3 million needed each year to remain operational.

Without you, we wouldn’t be able to keep providing our life-saving critical care service to those that need it the most.

Do you know someone who has been helped by our crew at GWAAC? Or perhaps you just want to do something crazy for a local charity. There are many different ways to support GWAAC in your local area, from taking part in one of our charity challenge events, to hosting a fundraising event or simply just hosting a collection pot at your local business or organisation.

Even the smallest donations help us to have a big impact.

Knowing where to start with fundraising can be the biggest hurdle, but our Community Fundraisers are always on hand and happy to help you with any questions, resources or planning – so make sure you get in touch and let us know what it is your doing for GWAAC!

Not sure what to do?

There are plenty of ways to fundraise, whether you have 5 minutes or days, or whether you’re going solo or fundraising with friends, in the community or at work.

Below we’ve listed some simple ideas to help kick-start your fundraising:

  • Give something up for a month – go a month without buying coffee or lunch out and put all the money you would have spent into a jar to donate.
  • Clear out your wardrobe – we can turn your old unwanted clothes into donations! All you have to do is bag them up and find your nearest GWAAC clothing bank here.
  • Got a birthday coming up? Facebook fundraisers are a great way to raise money – why not ask for donations instead of gifts this year.
  • Take part in a charity challenge – from running half marathons to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, see what challenges we’re running with Team GWAAC here.
  • Host a local event – coffee mornings and quiz nights are always popular and a great way to raise money for charity
  • Bake sale – get your colleagues in the kitchen and host your own bake sale in the workplace in aid of GWAAC
  • Feeling active? Gather your colleagues and friends and encourage them to ditch the car or public transport and walk to work for a week, donating money they would have spent on travel to charity.
  • Have somewhere you could host a collection pot? Let us know and we’ll get one brought out to you. Request a charity tin here.
