The charity event was organised by Grant Thornton and took place on the 6th of June. Grant Thornton encouraged local businesses to form a five a side football team to raise money for the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity. Many businesses entered including Burges Salmon, Footastey and Grant Thornton themselves.
Each team raised £200 which means that the event raised a total of £2400! The proceeds will help us provide life-saving critical care to a population of over 2.1 million. We receive no day to day government or lottery funding and instead we rely on local businesses and supporters to help keep us flying.
We are delighted to be Grant Thornton’s charity of the year and we look forward to our continued partnership. Our Community Fundraising Coordinator Holly attended the event and had this to say:
