September 10 2022, was the Nailsea International Bike Show. New Sentinels M.R.C attended whilst raising money for Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC).
The motorcycle club are avid GWAAC supporters and have fundraised for their local air ambulance before. The motorcycle community is well aware of the vital service that GWAAC and other air ambulances provide them.
The day was a great success, and the New Sentinels were able to raise an amazing £809.73 by selling raffle tickets and conducting other activities.
Matt Crabtree is a member of the club and organised the groups fundraising efforts. As Deputy Divisional Director of Nursing, Anaesthesia, Surgery, Critical Care and Renal Division at Southmead Hospital, he has an extra understanding of what exactly GWAAC does for the local community. He said:
"We have supported the charity a couple of times in the past and took up this opportunity to continue that support. In the Motorcycle community GWAAC is important as we see it as an essential medical service if we were to have an accident whilst riding! We clearly hope never to have to call on its services, but we are very glad it is there."
We’d like to extend a massive thank you to all those that supported us at the show. The response from the biker and local communities was simply staggering and very much appreciated.
