Education For The Future
Educating the younger generation and our local communities is an important part of the work we do here at Great Western Air Ambulance Charity.
There are several ways we inspire and educate people across our region - Bristol, Bath & Northeast Somerset, North Somerset, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, and parts of Wiltshire. From teaching them lifesaving skills that they may need in the future, to educating them about the work we do here at GWAAC, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
Get Involved
School Fundraising
As well as being fun, school fundraising teaches children valuable skills such as team building, giving them the opportunity to think as a group and work for the benefit of others. If you would like to fundraise for us then please get in touch with our Community Fundraising Team on info@gwaac.com, who will support you every step of the way.
Girlguiding
We have also teamed up with Girlguiding Bristol & South Gloucestershire County, and Girlguiding Somerset North County to provide the GWAAC Guides Challenge Badge.
Scouts
Working with Gloucestershire Scouts and Avon Scouts we've launched the GWAAC Scouts Fundraising and Challenge Badge
Opportunities
Great Western Hearts CPR Programme
Great Western Hearts CPR Programme is a training initiative which teaches people how to confidently administer CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The programme is delivered by a group of professional healthcare volunteers who give up their time to lead sessions.
External Clinical Engagement
Our crew work with healtcare professionals to share their knowledge and experience.
We have recently introduced a programme of training for frontline ambulance workers to help enhance their prehospital training.
We have also reopened our Clinical Governance days to clinical professionals seeking to learn more about our service.
