On Sunday 4 May a group of 56 intrepid adventurers climbed to the top of Ashton Gate's Dolman Stand to abseil 75ft to the pitchside below.
Accompanied by Critical Care Doctors Mike and Andrew, as well as SPCC Callum, a group that included former patients, GWAAC volunteers and families of former patients were strapped in on the roof of the stadium and bravely climbed over the edge to descend to the cheering crowd below.
Congratulations and thank-you to the abseilers and everyone who sponsored them. You managed to raise over £22,000 for our life-saving service.!
“It was such a fun day! Climbing over the bar on the roof was definitely nerve wracking but what a thrill to actually dare the drop - by the time my feet were on the floor I could have done it all over again.”
