GWAAC welcomes MPs to airbase
August 12, 2025So far this year, our Critical Care Team have responded to an average of around 45 missions every week. We’ve looked back at a typical week — one where we were called to exactly 45 patients across our region. Behind every call-out was someone critically ill or injured and a crew bringing the skills and equipment of a hospital emergency department right to them.
None of those patients would have known their day was about to change. But every one of them needed urgent medical help, fast. Here’s what that week looked like:

Behind every incident was someone who mattered. A child, a parent, a friend, a neighbour. Each of them needed hospital-level care in moments where minutes truly counted.
And that’s what our crew prepares for, every single day. Our Specialist and Advanced Paramedics, Critical Care Doctors and Pilots are ready to respond. They drive to or land in city centres, on country roads, in remote fields and even on beaches. They go wherever they’re needed.
Because:
- It’s always a normal day. Until it isn’t.
- You don’t expect it to happen here, or there. Until it does.
- You never expect it to be someone you know. Until it is.
With your support, we can plan for the next call. Especially when the patient can’t. Thank you.
