More time together. More moments like this.

Every day, with your support, our crew helps families stay together — creating more of the moments that matter most.

Some moments seem small, but they mean everything. A shared laugh, a cheeky wink, a simple “I love you.” For Steve and his son, Matt, those moments almost didn’t happen.

Steve and Matt’s moment.

Life is full of unexpected turns.

One ordinary Saturday, Steve’s life changed forever when a scooter ride to his friend’s house turned into a life-changing road traffic accident. He needed his right leg amputated as a result of the collision but is thankful that he survived.

Today, he’s back living life and sharing laughs and love with his son, Matt. Moments like these — ordinary yet priceless — are the moments your support makes happen.

“If GWAAC hadn’t been there that day, I’d have died. Full stop.”

Behind the scenes: How GWAAC helped Steve.

Every second counts and every patient is unique.

When Steve was in a critical condition, our Critical Care Team arrived within minutes. They carried hospital-level care directly to him, managing his severe injuries and pain, all while preparing him for transport in the helicopter to the nearest Major Trauma Centre.

Our specialist crew bring more than speed — they bring skills, medication and experience that can make the difference between life and death.

Two thirds of our patients are male.

Fathers, sons, brothers, partners, friends, teammates

Around two thirds of our patients are male — fathers, sons, husbands, friends. But every mission affects far more than the patient themselves. Every life touches a family, a home, a future filled with love and laughter.

Steve’s story is one of many. Every call-out, every mission, every intervention can ensure more time together for families like his.

“Nobody knows literally what is round the corner. I went round the corner and met an immovable object, and I lost. And without the air ambulance, I wouldn't be here today.”
