Our Helicopter

Take a virtual tour around Great Western Air Ambulance Charity's helicopter.

Here at GWAAC, we are very fond of our bright lime green and blue helicopter, Helimed 65. We call it Helimed 65 as that is its call sign when we are dispatched to incidents. It is actually a Eurocopter 135 and can seat up to five people – a Pilot, a Specialist Paramedic in Critical Care, a Critical Care Doctor, and a patient, if transporting them to hospital. The fifth seat is often used by a trainee paramedic or doctor, as we are a pre-hospital emergency medicine training unit, but it can also be used to take a patient’s parent or guardian as well.

If you spot our crew out and about in Helimed 65, share your photos or videos with us on socials @gwaac as we love to see where they’ve been spotted!
