Turn your unwanted clothes into life-saving donations for GWAAC

GWAAC can turn your unwanted clothes and shoes into money to help keep us flying! We’ve joined up with Bag It Up (BIU) to make it quick and easy to recycle all your clothes and household textiles, all whilst raising money for your local air ambulance.

The clothing industry is estimated to create 1.2 tonnes of carbon emissions, with an estimated 235 million items of clothing ending up in landfill each year.

By donating your unwanted items to one of our designated textile banks, you’ll not only be helping us save lives but you’ll be helping the environment also. Every kilo of clothing or textiles donated is tracked from the point of collection, through to the final sale, with all reusable garments being re-sold at shops and markets across the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Far East – helping to work towards a global zero-waste policy.

Garments that have no end-use are manufactured into reusable materials for mattress fillings or insulation. Only 1% of donations ends up going to waste, and so far we have raised over £100,000 for our life-saving charity with BIU donations.

Do you have clothes, shoes, towels, bed sheets or other household textiles that you no longer need? Don’t just throw them in the bin, bag them up and find your nearest BIU textile bank online here.
