Join us for the challenge of a lifetime! We’re looking for intrepid explorers to join us for our Kilimanjaro Trek 2019, raising vital funds for the charity too!
Our first trek to Kilimanjaro in 2017, was such a great success that we decided to repeat the Kilimanjaro challenge for September 2019.
Kilimanjaro is the world’s highest freestanding mountain and the highest mountain on the African continent at 5896 meters. Its snow-capped summit rises high above the dusty African plains; huge permanent glaciers flow down from the summit, spectacular views and beautiful ice formations are the reward for pushing your limits both physically and mentally.
You would be taking part in a challenging 10-day trek, taking the Machame route, which allows for gradual acclimatisation to the altitude and an excellent chance of reaching the summit. The trekkers will pass through thick forest, moorland and scree, they will camp above the clouds and watch the sun rise over Uhuru Peak, which is the highest point.
The dates of the challenge are 13th-22nd September 2019. We have a team of experienced fundraisers who will be able to help and offer advice every step of the way – and make sure you have fun with it!
This trek will be a trip to remember forever, creating memories and new friends, and offering the challenge and experience of a lifetime.
We will shortly be hosting an opening evening where you will be able to get lots more information and meet some of the participants from the 2017 Kilimanjaro Trek, getting a real insight to the challenge. Keep up to date by following us on Facebook and Twitter; you can also get more information from our Events Coordinator, Claire at claire@gwaac.com
