Emergency 24/7 takes viewers inside Southmead Hospital's Emergency Department, following patients and the teams caring for them. GWAAC's Critical Care Team feature as they bring patients to hospital and hand over to their NHS colleagues. You might have spotted our crew in orange. Here's what they do when they're not on your screen...

  • Dr Andy Lockyer

    Andy is a Critical Care Doctor with GWAAC and has been part of our crew since 2016. In episode one, you saw him handing over a patient to the team at Southmead Hospital.

  • Dr Tim Godfrey

    Dr Tim Godfrey is an Emergency Consultant at Southmead Hospital that you may have seen in episode two. He is also one of our Critical Care Doctors. Our Critical Care Doctors work in both hospital and pre-hospital environments, bringing experience from both sides of a patient's journey.

  • Dr Mark Winstanley

    In episode three, Dr Mark Winstanley was working in our Critical Care Team. He brought a seriously injured patient, suffering from serious burns, into Southmead Hospital, where he handed over to the hospital team.

  • Dr Phil Cowburn

    Dr Phil Cowburn, who you saw working as the Trauma Team Lead at Southmead in episode three, is also a Critical Care Doctor and one of the founders of GWAAC. Almost 20 years on, he continues to be part of our crew.
