GWAAC is delighted to be one of the main charity partners for this year’s Gloucester 10K!
This year the event will be organised jointly by Davies and Partners and Gloucester Quays Rotary Club and will take place on 26th June 2022. The race will set off from Gloucester Park and following the same route as last year taking in the Cathedral, Gloucester Docks, Gloucester Quays and sections of the canal towpath.
Corporate teams and individual entries are encouraged – could you sign up to be a part of Team GWAAC? There will be a goody bag for all runners including technical t-shirts, medals and goodies. Last year with tremendous support of sponsors combined cheques total of over £10,000 was donated to local charities, so we can’t wait to be a part of the day!
Great Western Air Ambulance Charity is one of the busiest air ambulance services in the South West, serving a population of 2.1 million people. In 2021 we attended over 1,950 patients. By taking part in the this amazing event, you will not only have a brilliant race-day experience, you will also be supporting a local lifesaving service.
Our team of Critical Care Doctors and Specialist Paramedics are called to an average of five incidents a day, at least one of which will likely be a patient in cardiac arrest. From emergency caesareans to roadside amputations, blood transfusions to emergency anaesthetics, GWAAC’s crew bring the skill and equipment of the emergency department out to where it is most needed.
We are a charity funded by donations from the public. We receive no day to day government or national lottery funding. We couldn’t keep flying without people like you and without the ongoing support of the people we serve, so thank you!
26 June 2022.
