It’s almost time for the 10th Chew Valley 10k, returning with its beautiful rural route and fabulous hill! The Race Headquarters at Bishop Sutton Village Hall and the Village Field behind allow for plenty of space to warm up and catch-up with fellow runners – refreshments and delicious cakes will also be available, provided by Bishop Sutton Pre-School and Forest School.
The main beneficiary charities are Chew Valley School Society, NICU Support and Bishop Sutton School Society, but to celebrate the Tenth Anniversary, the organisers have also chosen some other fantastic local charities and good causes we will make a smaller donation to and who you can opt to receive a Sportsgiving donation, if you would like to. GWAAC is honoured to be one of these charities!
Simply click on the drop-down box when prompted and you can round up your entry fee to the nearest pound, fiver or more.
Great Western Air Ambulance Charity is one of the busiest air ambulance services in the South West, serving a population of 2.1 million people. In 2021 we attended over 1,950 patients. By taking part in the this amazing event, you will not only have a brilliant race-day experience, you will also be supporting a local lifesaving service.
Our team of Critical Care Doctors and Specialist Paramedics are called to an average of five incidents a day, at least one of which will likely be a patient in cardiac arrest. From emergency caesareans to roadside amputations, blood transfusions to emergency anaesthetics, GWAAC’s crew bring the skill and equipment of the emergency department out to where it is most needed.
We are a charity funded by donations from the public. We receive no day to day government or national lottery funding. We couldn’t keep flying without people like you and without the ongoing support of the people we serve, so thank you!
